“Alliance for death domination” – Canadian Assault ‘Zine (USA)

KARONTE / BLOODY BROTHERHOOD
“Alliance For Death Domination” Split CD EP
(Dead Sheep Productions)

I have to admit I was very interested in this release when I pulled it out of my mailbox. Just the immediate first impression I received from the band names, song titles, cover and hell I also like the attitude / mindset to call your record label Dead Sheep haha. It sounds like something I would do, Autopsy Kitchen anyone? Anyway, on to this split, Karonte, a veteran band is up first up with three tracks on this 22 minute EP. They hail from Spain, which immediately conjures up past memories of brutal death metal bands, from that country. Spanish dm bands traditionally tend to have this dark, and very mean brutal sound and dangerous feeling atmosphere to their music, Karonte carries this tradition on in fine form. Well, maybe Karonte has a hint more melodo finesse and catchiness to their riffs, comparing to many of their countrymen, but only a hint I say. I would say this is most evident, on the third track “Dominación”, which incorporates a more distinctive level of heavy metal guitar histrionics, but also slows down the pace a fair bit and in so doing brings a doomy feel to the track. Damn, this is a great first half to the split.

Bloody Brotherhood also from Spain, comes at us with two tracks, “In Tyrant’s Land” & “Thousand Years Of Lies”, both of which are a little longer than the Karonte hymns. BB has a cleaner, less dirty (I mean that in a positive way) guitar sound than Karonte, but also play death metal and do so mostly at a middle pace. Bloody at first blush, does not seem quite as brutal, but they have their moments and the brutish bits come at you in sudden fits and starts like a suddenly striking viper after it took a moment to size you up. The vocals are growls, but at times have black, hate dipped emotive vitriol to them, which I like very much and those vocals do a lot to give the band a certain atmosphere and feel, which could at times, be reflected more in the music to make the songs more powerful, in my opinion. I did not enjoy the Bloody Brotherhood side of the split as much as Karonte, but having said that Bloody have some really good things going for them and I look forward to hear more from this young band as they progress into the future. This is a pretty killer release, I have the disc, but there is also a 10” EP vinyl version as well. I bet these songs sound fantastic on the turntable. Whichever version you check out, I have a feeling you will enjoy it, if you are a death metal lover there is a lot take in on this release for an EP. I hope to one day find more rotting pieces of dead sheep’s delicious carcass in the future.

KARONTE/BLOODY BROTHERHOOD “Alliance ForDeathDomination”
(DeadSheepRec., 21:59, ESP, 2017)

A nezachráni to veru ani spev v “Bentonovskom” štýle.

“Alliance for death domination” – Aristocrazia webzine (Italia)

KARONTE & BLOODY BROTHERHOOD „Allegiance For Death Domination“
Split-10”
(Dead Sheep)

Genre: Death Metal-Variationen

‚No Hay Vida Sin Dolor‘ lässt viel
das Album „Ritual Of Blood“.
‚In Tyrant‘s Land‘
plausibel. ‚Thousand Years Of Lies‘ doom-deatht mit einer diabolischen
(BTJ)

“Alliance for death domination” – Deadly Storm (Czech Republic)

KARONTE / BLOODY BROTHERHOOD – Alliance for Death Domination
split 2017, Dead Sheep Productions / Base Record Production / Hecatombe Records

Bývaly to tenkrát krásné casy.

Ano, takhle to má vypadat! Doporucuj!

Asphyx says:

Open all grave and call undeads! Mess up all crosses and listen to honest death metal! KARONTE are publishing split full of old school melodies this year. It´s cruel, evil, ugly, cutting, sadly doom, urgent, covered with cobwebs and has big energy. All fans of real old school death metal would have it in their collection. On „Alliance for Death Domination“ we meet cruelty, coldness and suffering. World is suddenly black! Death metal album, old as the bone of your ancestors. Real greeting from next world!

BLOODY BROTHERHOOD – druhá s kapel, velebící cerstve otevrené hroby. Tentokrát spíše stylem amerických kapel jako OBITUARY, MALEVOLENT CREATION, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE. MORBID ANGEL. Peklo!

Asphyx says:

Songs from BLOODY BROTHERHOOD are a musical massacre, cleansing of human mind, evil nightmare which will make you wake up during the nights. At first the split fells monotonous but you should stay with it and listen to it over and over and there is the essence of the cruellest music death. Split is a morbid piece of exhume human insides which are thrown right into your face. This music is for fans of the real death metal, for the orthodox fans of shadows and also for all the undead. I feel like I am on an evil session where are served bodies of the most beautiful zombies for taste test! This split is a cruel deadly ritual which won´t let any soul alive! Excellent!

“Alliance for death domination”- Archaic triad magazine (Finland)

Spanish death metal, no matter how old-school, never gets old. For some reason, the nation of Cava, Tapas, Francisco Franco and pole vaulter José Manuel Arcos produces enormous amounts of heavy, brutal and raw death metal. Alliance For Death Domination is a split EP – released by two bands and three labels – that further underscores this. I’ll come right out and say I am not familiar with either Karonte nor Bloody Brotherhood. This is of course a bit embarrassing, since Karonte have been around since 1994, but at least it means that I went into this listening experience with no preconceived notions, positive or negative.

Karonte open with a short intro, consisting mainly of low noises from the instruments, before “El Ocaso” kicks the door down. It’s traditional death metal in a very Spanish vein, with a few clever ideas to keep things fresh. Downtuned, violent and fairly fast-paced, the music instantly creates a sense of urgency and death metalness. The vocals are deep, growling and somehow rabid and complement the music in just the right way. Second track “No Hay Vida Sin Dolor” is a steam engine of a song, chugging alone between slow and middle tempo, also surprising by throwing in a melodeath riff for good measure. There’s a certain Edge of Sanity feeling to both vocals and the slightly ecclectic style. “Dominación” has a similar structure – heavy Morbid Angel style death metal, followed by melodic death metal riffs.

The basques of Bloody Brotherhoord follow with two songs – “In Tyrant’s Land” and “Thousand Years of Lies”. It makes sense that these two bands split with each other, for there are similarities in the basic sound and style. Bloody Brotherhood is simultaneously more techdeath in sound, while less technical in a more literal sense, and also somehow less human for better or for worse. The vocals are closer to Dissection (though slightly deeper), and there are more blastbeats. Furthermore, there are some very strange and interesting guitar segments that have an almost synthetic sound. The arrangements and song structures are dislocated and odd in a way that keeps you on your toes, and work well in tandem with the brutality and authenticity of the tracks.

Both bands have productions which are slightly rougher than Avulsed or other huge compatriots of theirs. Karonte in particular manage to find a very nice balance between clarity and underground feeling, with guitars that are crisp and heavy at the same time. Bloody Brotherhood deserve a special gold star for the bass guitar sound. However you look at it, Alliance For Death Domination is a great piece of Spanish death metal. Pick it up from Dead Sheep Productions, who released it in collaboration with Hecatombe Records and Base Record Production.

Karonte & Bloody Brotherhood – Alliance For Death Domination

“Alliance for death domination”- zwaremetalen.com (Bélgica)

Karonte & Bloody Brotherhood – Alliance For Death Domination (split)

“Alliance for death domination” – Tempelores Magazine (Holanda)

Karonte/Bloody Brotherhood – Alliance For Death Domination
Label: Dead Sheep Productions
Written by: Sabine van Gameren

Two Spanish Death Metal band have teamed up. Karonte, a band that has been around for 23 years. And Bloody Brotherhood, which founded in 2011. Both are keen on the Old School Death, and so they united for a spit “Alliance For Death Domination”.

What you can hear is that Karonte has some more years on the counter. They have a secure, ballsy sound that is tight on all fronts. They guys are getting into the perfection, paying attention to all details. The three songs are in line and of good quality. Bloody Brotherhood is a bit more on a free hand. They seem to be going with the flow a bit more, and that results in a maybe bit less structured, yet a bit more exploring sound. A notch to creativity, and giving a sound that convinces. They are only giving us two songs though, where you may have liked a bit more from them to get to know them.

In the end, maybe Karonte sticks out a bit more, they have a straightforward style, but when getting into it deeper, you may find yourself happy to have discovered Bloody Bortherhood along with it. The two compliment eachother, so this split is surely one to get if you come across it.

Line-up Karonte:
Kini – Vocalen, gitaar
Beli – Gitaar
Isma – Basgitaar
Rochar – Drums

Line-up Bloody Brotherhood:
Baalzemon Phobo – Vocalen, gitaar
Nargal. – Gitaar, vocalen
Camps – Basgitaar
Hammer – Drums
